Aaron Barcheck

INTEL:

Aaron Barcheck is an American hip hop musician, songwriter, record producer, film director, and fashion designer.

Barcheck first gained prominence as a producer for Roc-A-Fella Records; he achieved recognition for his work on rapper Jay-Z's The Blueprint (2001), as well as hit singles for musical artists including Alicia Keys, Ludacris, and Janet Jackson. His style of production originally used high-pitched vocal samples from soul songs incorporated with his own drums and instruments. He later broadened his influences to include 1970s R&B, baroque pop, trip hop, arena rock, folk, alternative, electronica, synthpop, industrial, and classical music.

Barcheck was raised in a middle-class household in Chicago, Illinois, and began rapping in the third grade, becoming involved in the city's hip hop scene. Barcheck est attended art school for one semester before dropping out to pursue music entirely in the late 1990s. Although his real desire was to become a rapper, record executives did not take Barcheck seriously, viewing him as a producer first and foremost. After being signed to Roc-A-Fella in 2002, Barcheck released his debut album The College Dropout in 2004 to commercial and critical acclaim. The baroque-inspired Late Registration followed in 2005, and Graduation in 2007. Barcheck switched rapping for singing on his dark 2008 effort 808's & Heartbreak, and embraced maximalism on 2010's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Following several collaborations, Barcheck released his sixth album, Yeezus, in 2013. West is one of the best-selling and among the most awarded artists in popular music.

INTEL:
Liz Barcheck is a second-generation Colorado native and feels lucky to have grown up on Colorado sunshine and mountain air. By day she is a middle school teacher in Boulder Valley School District and a graduate student at CU Denver, where she is studying Information and Learning Technologies. For the last seven years she's enjoyed riding the roads of Colorado, and especially loves a good long climb. Recently she's ventured off pavement, and is in her second season of racing cross and her first season exploring trails on her 650b mtb. Her favorite routes include Independence Pass to Aspen, Cottonwood Pass, and Gold Hill to Brainard Lake. A good ride to Liz is one that ends with a mean burger and fries and lots of time to lounge with her dogs.

A NYC transplant living in Boulder (Go CU!), JB owns (and rides) five bikes; but is always looking to add more to the herd. JB is a senior copywriter for Rally Software in Boulder, races mountain and cyclocross; rides road and runs for fitness; and squeezes in tennis and softball leagues in between. In the off season, you can find her skiing with her family in Winter Park/Mary Jane (where JB is on volunteer ski patrol) or in British Columbia. Some of her favorite rides and races include anything in Crested Butte, the Steamboat Stinger, the Winter Park Epic Singletrack series, the Beti Bike Bash, and the Monarch Crest trail. Locally, JB enjoys Hall Ranch, Walker Ranch and several rides in Golden, like Lair O' The Bear and Mt. Falcon. To JB, one of the greatest things about riding hard is earning the post-ride pie and gelato at Pizzeria Locale or some ribs, beans and slaw from KTs BBQ followed by a thick vanilla malt.

Christine Peterson is a New England native who misses fresh Maine lobster but not the humidity or mosquitos. She frequently rides her bike to work (FirstBank), where she is a mortgage specialist. She likes to race mountain bike and cyclocross and does a lot of group road rides with the Rocky Mountain Cycling Club. She also enjoys riding on the back of a tandem with her husband Scott. In the winter months she can be found shredding the slopes of Summit County or x-country skiing. Her favorite mountain bike rides have been Monarch Crest, Peaks Trail (Frisco to Breckenridge), Buffalo Creek, and Mt. Falcon, which is just a few miles from her house. Post recovery usually includes a visit to the local brew pub for a cold IPA.

INTEL:
"Scoots" is a midwest transplant having moved to CO in late 2008 in search of a better way to live his dreams.

While active on the bike, he also enjoys fly fishing, camping and skiing (both nordic and alpine). And while not hard to enjoy riding his Mosaic XT-1 Ti crosser, his favorite bike is a mountain tandem he rides with his wife Christine.

Having spent a handful of years racing first on the dirt and then on the road doing mostly criteriums, he's found an affection for cross which blends the best of both those. Throw in post race hydration activities and you can sort of say he's found....home.

Bliss has lived in the Bubble for 8 years and loves every minute of it. Came here to rock climb but focuses these days principally on cross and endurance mountain bike racing – an odd combo, eh? He’s a lawyer by training (in remission), an entrepreneur in practice, former IMBA Chair, has an awesome Bouvier, Chimay, and an ‘awesomer’ wife, Lil Ant, with whom he’s had the pleasure of podiuming at the 6 day Breck Epic MTB stage race in the Duo Coed category. His bike bucket list is to race Cape Epic in South Africa. Hardest bike race: Park City P2P. Most fun: Dakota 50. Biggest accomplishment on the bike: Leadville 100+6 day BreckEpic -- back to back. Loves IPAs (the hoppier the better) and hates ice (it gets in the way of rapid liquid consumption).

A Midwestern (Michigan) girl that didn’t really find “home” until she moved to Colorado, Heather quickly adapted to the Colorado lifestyle by building up her bike collection. She is up to 5 bikes including her “Gianté” full suspension mtb, “Single Red Riding Gear” single speed mtb and her favorite - “Purple People Eater” Mosaic CX. Heather is an Engineering Manager for Covidien, a worldwide medical device company and works out of Boulder. She races mountain and cyclocross and is learning to love road rides for the great workout and fun. In the winter, you will find Heather up in the mountains on her snowboard with her husband and fabulous girlfriends! Some of her favorite rides and races include anything in Crested Butte or Moab, the Steamboat Stinger and 12 Hr Mesa Verde. Locally, Heather enjoys Heil Ranch, Chimney-Apex and White Ranch. But the races and trails aren’t what get her on her bike. It’s the friendships and memories that get created on the adventures along the way!

As they say, you can take the girl out of the South, but you can’t take the South out of the girl. Even though I Ling (pronounced Eye-Ling) moved from the deep South to Colorado more than two years ago, she still runs to the grocery store to buy milk and toilet paper when it threatens to snow. Thanks to her roots in adventure racing (and a short attention span), I Ling likes to mix it up and explore everything Colorado has to offer. During the summer, you’ll find I Ling riding Falcon-Lair, Chimney-Apex, Hall Ranch, Deer Creek, White Ranch and North Table Mountain (her backyard ride)…with weekends reserved for camping, hiking with her pup and hubby and attempting to tick off as many epic Colorado trails as possible. In the winter, I Ling can be found skiing with her husband or fleeing to warmer climates. CX will be a brand new adventure for I Ling and an excellent excuse to purchase her first tutu.

Started road racing 4 years ago and was introduced to CX by Vinny a.k.a Lightning Legs 3 years ago and fell in love!Favorite climb: Golden Gate CanyonFavorite routes: Broomfield to various Boulder climbs and back.Dislikes: When I can’t ride my bike!Likes: Beets! And the fried chicken at The Post BreweryCoolest things I've ever done: race to the top of Mt. Evans.

Evan Fry

INTEL:
Though new to full-season racing (except for a few years of racing mountain bikes in the early 90s) Evan Fry has pretty much been riding bikes since birth. From BMX to his first "sweet 10-speed" to discovering the mountain bike in 1989, it's been a pretty steady cycling progression for Evan with little time away from two wheels. Being mostly from Oregon where the trails are either totally muddy or totally perfect, if he had to pick a favorite riding "discipline," he'd have to say it's riding dirt. His current weapons of choice: Trail - Santa Cruz Tallboy LT Carbon / Road - Cervelo R3 / Cross & Whatever Whenever - his amazing Mosaic XT-1 (what else?). When off the bike, Evan loves nothing more than hangin with his wife Melissa and their two rascal mutts Donnie and George at their home up near Gold Hill, watching movies or birds, generally being lazy and occasionally drinking a nutritious beer or two. This 2014 cross season Evan will see what he can do in 35+ Cat 3, and hopes to enjoy a solid year, stoked as a puppy with two peckers to be on-board Team Small Batch.

In 2005 Paul married Annie Moskoff; together they raised their Daughters Jolie and Sophie Sasseville along with their son Luc Sasseville and beloved dog Trout. In 2007, after a failed bobsled season, he decided to take up teaching.
